Youth
Pioneers
Lutheran Pioneers is an organization for children ages 4-12. The Pioneers exist to nurture the youth of our congregation with God's Word and cultivate good Christian friendships through the church. We meet on a monthly basis for a short Bible lesson and activity. The activities vary from month to month. For example, in December we make wooden snowmen for Christmas, and in January we begin to make cars for our annual Pine Car Derby.
Pine Car Derby Hiking
We also take field trips on a monthly basis. Some of those field trips are outdoors, like camping, fishing, hiking, and horseback riding. Other field trips are indoors, such as a trip to the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and the Newport Aquarium.
Confirmation classes
We offer continuing education in the Bible to children in grades six through eight. The children meet once a week throughout the regular school year. This instruction gives the child an opportunity to study all the teachings of the Bible in more depth. At the end of the three year program, the children are given the opportunity to become communicant members of the congregation.
